AI Training Workshops

Grant rules on AI changed this year. Is your team across them?

Practical workshops for medical research institutes, cooperative research centres and research-intensive organisations: research operations, grants, partnerships, communications and corporate services

What's missing in most
research organisations

Small teams wear many hats, and AI is being picked up one person at a time

Funding rules nobody has unpacked.
The ARC and NHMRC updated their AI policies in April 2026, and staff aren't sure what changed.

Sensitive data in public tools.
Participant information, unpublished results and partner IP need rules most teams haven't written down.

Reporting overload.
Milestone, partner and board reports take the same people away from the work.

One-person expertise.
When the AI enthusiast is away, everyone else goes back to the old way.

What your team walks way with

Faster milestone and partner reports,

drafted from your own notes and checked by your staff

Plain-English summaries

for boards, donors, partners and the public

Clear rules

for participant data, unpublished results and commercial-in-confidence material.

Literature scans you can trust,

with every source checked

Tasks we work on in the workshop

We use your own reports, partner agreements and funding schemes as the material

  • Milestone and progress reports from project notes

  • Partner and stakeholder updates

  • First-pass literature scans, with sources verified

  • Board papers and executive summaries

  • Summaries of funding opportunities and guidelines

  • Drafting and updating internal policies

The rules your team needs to know.

Research organisations answer to funders, ethics committees and partners at the same time

ARC and NHMRC (April 2026).
AI may support grant writing, but applicants stay responsible for accuracy and integrity, and anything entered should be treated as potentially public. Assessors must not hand off evaluation or scoring.

Ethics and participants.
Human research approvals and consent terms decide what participant data can go where.

Partners and privacy.
Commercial-in-confidence terms in partner agreements, and Privacy Act obligations, including the 10 December 2026 changes for organisations covered

*Our workshops explain these in plain English and build safe habits. They are not legal advice and don’t make your organisation compliant on their own. .

Foundations + Track

Many research organisations run the Generative AI Introduction for the whole organisation, then the Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini workshop for operations and grants staff.

Where most research organisations start

All prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST.

Generative AI Introduction

Other group sizes are priced on the same scale.

Elsewhere, we quote travel upfront at cost.

Workshop Dates.

    except Australia Day.

  • February to August 2028: currently booking.

Please email us or reach out to get the latest availabilities.

How Booking Works

  1. Book a 20-minute call.
We talk about your team, your tools and the dates that suit.

  2. Get a proposal.
Within one business day: the workshops, group sizes, price and two date options.

  3. Reserve your date.
A reservation fee of 20% of the total (minimum A$1,000) secures your date.
It comes off your final invoice.

  4. We prepare.
A short questionnaire tells us your roles, your tools and the tasks you want to work on.

Universities and public sector organisations: a signed booking form and a purchase order number hold your date while the reservation invoice is processed. Supplier details, insurance certificates and our privacy statement are available on request.

Common Questions

We've already done the free government AI course. Is this still useful?

Yes. The free course explains what AI is. Our workshops show your team how to use it in their own work, with the tools your organisation provides, under your rules.
The free course makes good preparation for our Introduction.

Do our staff need licences for the tool workshops?

For the Copilot and the Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini workshops, yes. We check what your organisation has before your date is confirmed.
The Introduction needs no licence.

Can we mix departments?

Yes. The Introduction works well with mixed groups. Tool workshops work best with people who do similar work or work in the same departments.

Online or onsite?

Either. Online on Microsoft Teams anywhere in Australia, or onsite at your office.

Can our numbers change after we book?

Yes, up to 5 business days before the workshop. The price adjusts, but not below the group minimum.

What if we need to move the date?

You can move it once at no cost, with at least 10 business days' notice, to a date within 90 days.
For On-site outside of Melbourne: we can discuss adjustments that affect travel and accommodations.

Is the reservation fee refundable?

No, but it comes off your final invoice in full, and you can move your date once.

What happens to our information?

We only use what we need to run your workshop. See our privacy policy.
